Simple Sugar Free Crockpot AppleSauce

Image
I just love this recipe! No fuss, No big mess, No sugar, No preservatives, No gluten, No artificial colours/flavors, No b.s.... Just simple, real food made easy so my family and I can enjoy it rather than the crap food that is made so readily available everywhere else. One of the hardest things about eating healthy is that healthy foods are not as readily available as the other stuff. This is one little way to help simplify that. Mini mason jars are perfect single serving portion sizes, store nicely/securely and are perfect for travel and lunches. Take 8-10 apples, wash and cut into large pieces Just cover bottom of crockpot with water - add apples Let cook for 6 hours Blend/Mash/Squash to desired Consistancy If desired add a small dash of cinnamon and nutmeg Serve warm or dish, cover & refrigerate

A Peek at Prep

Hello Again!  I get a lot of people asking for more help with Meal Prep... I get it..  It isn't the easiest thing to do if it isn't something you're used to doing. Some Container   Ideas are posted below.... You can also use Ziploc bags, Mason Jars, Empty Baby Food Jars, plastic/glass containers  etc... Don't be afraid to get creative.  If you have kids, nieces, nephews, grand kids etc - they could even decorate or personalize them for you, or you could find yourself having fun creating your own!  I'm one for packaging everything seperate because I am not one for blended flavours, and kinda picky about it SO glass or plastic locklids are what I find works best for me  I am also one for the Frozen Portions. I snack far too easily to have to wait when I'm hungry haha... A few meals that I will prep ahead and freeze are: mini pizzas chicken burgers small home made soup/chili portions sweet chili chicken Gluten ...

Wonderful Uses For Coconut Oil

Image
Hi Everyone! I hope your Monday has been off to a wonderful start!  I wanted to touch base a little on one of my favourite products, Coconut oil, and a few of the great things it has to offer... I love that it's so multi purpose... ofcourse it's important to remember everything in moderation.  Take a look at a few of these awesome perks!  Boosts energy Coconut oil contains short term medium-chain saturated fatty acids (MCFA) - What does consuming MCFA fats in coconut oil mean for your body? Our body metabolises these fats in the liver, immediately converting this into energy (fuel for the brain and muscle function) rather than it being stored as fat. Easy Digestion If you suffer from poor digestion or tummy bloating try adding coconut oil to your diet. Coconut oil has been found to benefit digestive disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and microbial related tummy bugs. Fatty acids in coconut oil contain anti microbial properties, which have a s...

Meal Prep!!

Image
Hi everyone I wanted to share a thought on meal prep...  I get bored of routine, I need to switch things up sometimes. I need to have things accessible or I will go for what is, I also, hate to waste... SO...  Sometimes... What I like to do, before I do my weekly shopping list or menu planning is rummage through my kitchen for anything I haven't gotten through that week so I'm not wasting a bunch of food while making my different recipes and so on and get a little creative...  For example - This week, I had left over a little of each of these: Carrots,✔️ Green beans, ✔️ Onion, ✔️ Cucumber, ✔️ Romaine lettuce,✔️ Dried fruit,✔️ Oatmeal, Watermelon,✔ Cabbage, ✔️ Chickpeas,✔️ Celery, ✔️ Vanilla Greek yogurt, ✔️ Chicken broth, ✔️ Whole grain rice, ✔️ Some grapefruit and oranges, ✔️ A banana and ✔️ A couple eggs✔️  Chicken (ground and boneless/skinless)✔️ And ofcourse my Shakeology ✔️ So these were the basics for this round of my mea...

Banana Split Yogurt

Image
This is by far one of the most delicious snacks I've ever had.  It has been a favourite for about a year now and I don't see that changing any time soon haha...  1/2 banana -  sliced long 1/4 C Vanilla Greek yogurt between banana slices 3-5 Strawberries diced/sliced on top of yogurt (pineapple optional) Top with a tiny drizzle of dark chocolate (or syrup)  Sprinkle of granola (I use cranberry with spelt, flax and oat)  And enjoy!  For those following the 21 day fix this would = 1 1/2 purple (with strawberry and pineapple) 1 red 1/4 yellow

DRINK UP!!

Image
Over the years I have heard a million different reasons as to why people struggle getting down a well rounded amount of water on daily basis. Truth is - water is SO IMPORTANT, I really believe that if this is something you struggle with, it would be a fantastic first change. Make it a priority to consume more little by little. We can't get rid of something that is stuck in our body, you have to give it a way out..  Some of my favourites to add to my water are  > apples and cinnamon > pineapple > cucumber > oranges/tangerines/mandarins > grapes > lemon/lime There was a time I didn't drink much water myself, I found it was dull and tasteless which I didn't care for and there were hundreds of other more tasty things out there... Not a day passes where I don't have my water now.  Tiny Tweaks make Big Changes  Water can do a lot to help your body function better on daily basis!       ...

Back To Basics

Image
Hello again everyone! Well here we go! While renovating the downstairs of our new house, I lost internet connection but I am happily back up and running and very anxious to get my butt back into gear! We were renovating the front room/my workout room - This room has definitely had changes from top to bottom and I am super happy with the results! In our townhouse, before we moved, I always worked out in the livingroom and on the stairs, but when we moved here, to the farmhouse, the livingroom is upstairs and we felt like I was going to bust a floorboard haha, so the little red table now moves to the benches with fold up chairs for dinner and it tucks back into space for me to use my laptop and workout... I must admit.... while we were renovating I didn't exactly keep to my regular routine, and even gained a couple pounds so I am super excited to jump back in and feel great! (especially with only a few small details missing from my room and the nicer weather approaching haha.) On Mon...
